So the pattern here is a house with relatively modern plumbing sitting on ground that makes any buried work slower than it looks on a quote from somewhere else. It is worth asking a contractor whether they have dug in this area before.

Test the well, not the neighbourhood
USGS sampled groundwater across the Big Chino subbasin between 2011 and 2018 and found significant chemical differences between the basin-fill and carbonate aquifers, with carbonate samples running higher in calcium, sodium, bicarbonate, fluoride and arsenic. All but one carbonate sample, and two basin-fill samples, exceeded the federal drinking water standard for arsenic.
That is a finding about the aquifer system, not a claim about your particular well, and the honest response is a test rather than an assumption. It costs little, and on a private well nobody else is doing it for you.
